About Me

Why I Train Leaders

Hello.  My name is Felicia Littlejohn.  And I train leaders. I’m an instructional designer, trainer, facilitator, and leadership coach.  I’m focused on providing high quality training to move leaders to high cognitive levels of learning so that they can outperform on the job. I’d like to share with you why I chose this line of work.

  1. I am a LEADER, and so I think like leaders do.  Leaders are busy.  So, when designing and delivering training, I make sure that I am clear on the reasons why.  Making sure that the training applies to them and needs their presence is also part of what I do. In addition, I use my background and skills to create learning experiences that are authentic and can be applied directly the the job or a likely job situation.
  2. I am an excellent TRAINERI am outcome focused yet flexible in how outcomes are achieved.  What I love about this approach is that participants are fully engaged and demonstrate mastery of the material – no matter how they like to learn.
  3. I am a THINKER who excels at teaching others how to think. I am skilled at providing learning experiences that encourage learners to internalize new information for solving problems and creating solutions.  When learners are debating, discussing, and working through how to best implement training, this is my measure of success in achieving long lasting high cognitive levels of learning.
  4. I operate at both STRATEGICAL and PROCESS-ORIENTED levels.  My training provides learners with context and the reasons why and then breaks down the work into steps.
  5. Most of all, I am a GAME CHANGER – I am very passionate about the need for leaders to get effective training. The world is changing at an ever-increasing pace. It’s essential for the leaders to continually meet raise expectations so that they are always ready to adapt to change.   The demands on managers and companies to perform is tremendous. I feel fulfillment when I use my skills to help affect change and evolution for those that are responsible for making it happen.
It’s of upmost importance that leaders update their skill sets. Time is valuable. So my focus is on developing effective, time efficient training for leaders and for those that rely upon them. My journey is to use my knowledge, skills, and experience to help enable and empower managers to be more successful.  And that is why I train leaders.
